A quick reference for the words you meet on listings, in offers and in the Deal Room.

Listings

  • Asset type — what is being sold: a website, a SaaS, a domain, a YouTube channel… Each type has its own form, checks and transfer steps.
  • Verified owner — the seller proved they control the asset.
  • Verified numbers — figures read from the real source (for example Google Analytics or Stripe), not typed in by the seller.
  • Claimed — a number the seller entered without a connected source. Ask for proof.
  • Multiple — the price divided by the yearly profit (or monthly profit × 12). It lets you compare prices of different sizes.
  • Featured / Spotlight — a paid upgrade that shows a listing more often. Promoted listings are marked.

Offers and auctions

  • Counter-offer — a reply to an offer with a different price. A negotiation can go back and forth up to 6 times.
  • Buy now — buy at the asking price without negotiating.
  • Reserve price — the lowest price a seller accepts in an auction. It is hidden; the listing can show whether it has been met.
  • Anti-sniping — a bid in the last minutes of an auction extends it, so everyone can answer.
  • Second chance — if the winner of an auction does not go ahead, the seller can offer the item to the next highest bidder.

Deals

  • Deal Room — the private page where a sale is finished step by step.
  • Terms — what both sides agree: price, what is included, payment method and deadlines.
  • Escrow — a licensed company holds the payment until the buyer confirms the transfer.
  • Middleman — our team or an agent checks and hands over the asset for a fee, when offered.
  • Transfer checklist — the steps to move this kind of asset to the buyer, ticked off by both sides.
  • Inspection period — the 2 day(s) the buyer has to check the asset after the transfer.
  • Dispute — asking our team to step in when buyer and seller cannot solve a problem together.
