Verification and trust
When verification does not work
Nothing happens, the check fails or the code expired — the most common causes and how to fix them.
On this page
Most failed checks have a simple cause. Go through this list before contacting us.
The check says the code was not found
- DNS: changes can take a while to spread. Wait 15 minutes to a few hours and check again. Make sure the record is on the domain itself (not www) and at the DNS host the domain’s nameservers point to.
- File: open the file’s address in a private browser window. If you do not see the code, the file is in the wrong folder, has the wrong name, or a security plugin blocks it.
- Meta tag: clear your site’s cache and any CDN cache, then view the homepage source and search for the code.
- Bio or description: make sure the change was saved and is public, not only visible to you.
We check the wrong address
The verification step shows the address we check. Click Not right? Change it and enter it exactly as buyers would find it — for example example.com or youtube.com/@channel.
The code expired
Codes stay valid for 14 days. Choose Use another method or get a new code and put the new one in place.
I clicked and nothing happened
Wait a few seconds for the check to finish. There is a short pause of 30 seconds between two checks, and a daily limit per listing. If the page still does not change, reload it — your progress is saved.
I cannot use any automatic method
Choose Manual review or Screenshot with code and let our team check it — see Verification by our team.
Tip: Still stuck? Contact us from Dashboard → Support and tell us the listing, the method and what you see. A screenshot helps.
