Is the price fair? Valuations, multiples and recent sales

There is no single right price for a digital asset, but there are good ways to tell whether a price is reasonable.

Look at the multiple

For assets that earn money, compare the price with the profit. A site asking 36,000 with 1,000 monthly profit sells at 36 times monthly profit, or 3 times yearly profit. Similar assets usually sell within a range of multiples — the price guides show typical ranges for each asset type.

Recent sales

The sold archive shows assets that sold on digiflippers.com: the price (or a price range), the number it was valued on and the multiple. Find sales of the same asset type and size.

The free valuation

The valuation tool estimates what an asset is worth from real sales on the marketplace, and shows which sales it used. Sellers use it to set their price; you can use it to check one.

What moves the price

  • Up: verified numbers, stable or growing income, several traffic sources, little work needed, a strong brand, long history.
  • Down: claimed numbers only, falling traffic, dependence on one platform or one person, recent penalties, a lot of work each week.

Make a reasoned offer

If you think the price is too high, make an offer and explain why — for example, “the last 3 months are lower than the average” or “similar sites sold at 30 times monthly profit”. See Making an offer.

Good to know: Valuations and price guides are estimates, not a guarantee. The real value depends on your checks and on what the asset is worth to you.
