What buyers look at

The numbers your domain portfolio is judged on

Show these clearly — and verified — and serious buyers make offers faster.

  • Names & extensions

    Good: Mostly .com

    Quality beats quantity.

  • Yearly renewal cost

    Good: Low per name

Renewals are the portfolio's running cost.

  • Past sales

    Good: Sell-through history

Shows how often names from it sell.

  • Parking income

    Good: Any

    Type-in traffic that earns.

Benchmarks are rules of thumb from public sales. Your niche and numbers decide the real price.

Price drivers

What makes a domain portfolio worth more

The same things that make buyers pay more also make your listing sell faster.

Typical price (rule of thumb)

Often a wholesale price per name

Portfolios sell below retail per name; the best names, renewal costs and any income decide the total.

Raises the price

  • A few premium names in the mix
  • Low renewal costs
  • Sales history
  • Theme or niche that fits one buyer

Lowers the price

  • Many names renewing soon
  • Trademark risks
  • Low-quality or hand-registered filler
  • Spread over many registrars

What buyers see

The details serious buyers look for

The form asks for exactly these — the more you share, the more offers you get. Private details can stay hidden until a buyer signs an NDA.

Questions

Selling domain portfolios: common questions

Still have a question?

Can buyers pick single names?

A portfolio sells as one lot. To sell names one by one, list each as a domain name.

How are portfolios priced?

Usually per name, weighted by the best names, extensions, age and any income. The free valuation tool gives a starting point.

What does it cost?

A small listing fee for your asset and price, shown before you pay. Deals up to $10,000 pay no success fee. Deals above $10,000 pay a 5% success fee on the sale price, paid by the seller. The fee is never more than $5,000 per deal. The listing fee the seller paid for that listing is taken off the success fee. With escrow it is deducted in the escrow transaction; otherwise an invoice follows when the deal completes. The fee is shown in the deal terms before anyone agrees. See pricing.

Do I need an account to start?

No. Start your listing right away; we ask you to create a free account only when you save it.

Does the domain need to be unlocked to list it?

No — only when it is time to transfer. To prove ownership, add the one-time TXT record to its DNS.

What makes a domain valuable?

Short, easy to say and spell, a strong extension (.com first), real search volume, age and no trademark problems.

Should I include the domain's website or email?

Only if they transfer cleanly. Tick them under “What’s included” so buyers know exactly what they get.

What happens after I accept an offer?

A Deal Room opens with a step-by-step checklist: agree the terms, the buyer pays, you transfer the asset and the buyer confirms. Both sides see every step.

It takes a few minutes. The sale price stays yours.
