Ways to sell: fixed price, offers, auction or confidential

Which sale format fits your asset, and how each one works for you and for buyers.

  1. Fixed price
  2. Offers
  3. Auction
  4. Confidential
  5. Which should I choose?

You choose one sale format per listing. The asset type decides which formats are available.

Fixed price

Buyers see your price and can buy now. You can also accept offers alongside it. Best when you know what the asset is worth and want a quick, simple sale.

Offers

You show an asking price and buyers make offers. You accept, decline or counter — up to 6 rounds. Offers stay open for 72 hours. Set a minimum offer to decline low offers automatically, and an auto-accept price to close quickly. Best when the value is less clear or you expect negotiation.

Auction

You set a start price, an optional hidden reserve (the lowest price you accept) and a duration. Buyers bid; a bid in the last minutes extends the auction so everyone can answer. An optional Buy now price disappears after the first bid. Best for assets with several interested buyers and a clear market.

If the winner does not go ahead, you can make a second-chance offer to the next highest bidder.

Confidential

No public price, and the details you mark as locked are shown only to the buyer once a price is agreed. Documents can be limited to the buyer in a deal as well. Best for established businesses that should not be recognised by competitors or customers.

Which should I choose?

  • First sale, asset easy to value: fixed price with offers.
  • Unique asset, several interested buyers: auction with a reserve.
  • Serious business, privacy matters: confidential.

Tip: Whatever the format, the sale is finished the same way — in the Deal Room.
