Transferring assets
Transferring a community or group
Discord servers, Telegram channels, Facebook groups and similar — ownership, admins, bots and connected accounts.
Communities are transferred by moving ownership to the buyer’s account and removing the seller’s powers.
Discord servers
- The buyer joins the server.
- The seller transfers server ownership to the buyer in the server settings (member list → transfer ownership).
- The buyer reviews the roles and removes admin roles they do not want.
- Bots and integrations are checked; tokens owned by the seller are replaced.
Telegram channels and groups
- The seller adds the buyer as an admin with full rights.
- The seller transfers ownership to the buyer in the admin settings (Telegram asks the seller to confirm with a password).
- The buyer removes the seller and other admins they do not want.
Facebook groups and pages
- The seller adds the buyer as admin.
- The buyer accepts.
- The seller removes themselves and any admins the buyer does not want.
Also move
- Linked websites, social profiles and payment accounts (for paid memberships).
- Moderation bots, their settings and any paid subscriptions.
- The community’s rules, pinned messages and welcome flows.
Good to know: Tell the members about the new owner if that is part of the agreement. A sudden change without a word can hurt engagement.
Thanks for your feedback!
